Route 66: Travel Through the Bible is a 70-lesson Bible survey curriculum for grades 6-8.

Components
- A student workbook – The core of this curriculum is the student workbook, which students can complete independently or collectively. This full-color, illustrated workbook walks students through the history and major themes of each book of the Bible.
- A teacher’s manual – The manual provides annotated facsimiles of the student workbook pages, complete with suggested answers. It also offers content and learning objectives, review activities, a memorization program, testing—both quizzes and unit tests—and answer keys.
- Extra teaching resources bundle – This downloadable package offers editable presentation slides of workbook pages and answers, as well as lesson quizzes and tests.
Constraints and Goals for the 4th Edition
Route 66 has been used and loved by teachers for decades. Therefore, we wanted to retain the core features that customers found helpful while expanding and adding content to fit within the scope of the study.
To that end, we . . .
- evened out the pace and sequence of the study by adding or combining lessons for consistent, sequential coverage of biblical content.
- made student exercises all-inclusive by omitting the need for supplemental resources; add maps, vocabulary definitions, and a vocabulary glossary.
- added content and learning objectives; integrate Webb’s Depth of Knowledge in student exercises; add quizzes and rewrite existing assessments to measure learning objectives.
Design
For the design of this new, 4th edition, we wanted visual continuity with the previous while also refreshing the cover and interior. I created a simple, modern version of the title graphic that would be recognizable to existing customers. I worked with the fantastic Brian Edward Miller of Orlin Culture Shop, who created the cover illustration. Del Thompson added to the existing interior illustrations.
In addition to designing the cover, I also created interior graphics like timelines and maps.
